Phone in Bra

At dinner last night, I told No. 2 to bring her handphone to school as I’ll be picking her up late and will need to call her.

No.1  : Form 5 having exams, got spot check ah?

I : Hide the phone-lah.  Mmm… you can put it in your shorts pocket.

No. 2 : Can still see the phone!   Maybe can hide in underwear.

I : Yeah, tuck it into your bra.

No. 2 : No time lah. When they come in, where got time to put it in.

I : Just leave the phone there.  Yours is quite small.

No. 2 : So uncomfortable.  You’re talking about the phone right?

I : Yeah!  (Though her phone is small, she’s still growing.) Maybe I should lend you my bra.  Got more space to stash the phone.

No. 2 walks away.

No. 1 : This is the first time I feel so disgusted when eating. (Pretends to look embarrassed.)

  1. Ha ha ha. This is funny. You should put this story down in your book. Or better still, submit to Sharifah.

BTW, was at MPH 1 Utama just now, and they are displaying Life’s Like that very prominently, stacked up on a table.

  2. *wondering what will happen if the phone rings or vibrates*

  3. If I had a mother like you, Lydia… *shudders* :D LOL

  4. Lydia! It’s hard to be your teenage child, ha ha.

But, jokes aside, try not to keep your cellphone next to your skin. According to reiki masters, it drains energy from you. We did some experiments with it — it’s true!

Guys who like to put the phone in their breast pocket might consider using a cellphone cover made of plastic or leather (shirt fabric is usually rather thin).

  5. From a mother’s point of view, huh?

So parents also encourage their children to bring their mobiles to school nowadays! My parents too! So cool!

Dad always says, “More convenient lah! No need walk far far to find public phone! Ensure safety somemore. If anything happens, I’ll be responsible, ok?”

He doesn’t tell me to hide my mobile, though. =P

  6. Lovely dinner conversation. :)
Are mobile phones banned in Malaysian schools?

  7. Xeus, thanks for info. Nice to know. Sad lives we lead, ya, when titbits like this can give us a high.

rotidua, it’s switched off. Can you imagine Pam Anderson stashing her cellphone in her bra and the phone vibrates?

EW, I know, mine are always shaking their heads and rolling their eyes.

Argus, yes I read that somewhere. We shouldn’t even put it under our pillow when sleeping. Same logic that men shouldn’t put laptops on their laps right?

Matrian, so much more convenient. But they only bring the phones when they have to stay back in school for study or activities.

Judy, handphones are not allowed in our schools. Recently the Education ministry okayed the bringing of hp to school and there was an uproar which caused them to reverse their decision. I can understand the problems that will arise if this were to go ahead : hp thefts and loss, interfering with studies, students comparing hp with one another etc, but at times it is expedient for students to bring their hp to school as pointed out by matrian above.

  8. SO YOU’re one of those who give us prefects a hard time back in my highschool days!

    tsk tsk tsk…

  9. lydia, trust me, they will be more moments like this, when they start feeling embarrassed when we say something.

  10. hahaha, very funny. Ei, she cant seem to take your sense of humor and walk away. :) hahah, still laughing!

  11. could she be able to put a pair of phones inside her bra if she were allowed to wear yours? lol!

  12. Boy, I can’t wait for the chance to ask my kids to hide their handphones in their underwears!! Gosh….I’ll be starting another problem then, eh? Geesh…now I know how tough it is to be a mom.

  13. Vern, back in your high school days, my kids don’t have handphones yet, so don’t blame me ah.

    KT/blinka : yeah-lah.

KK, maximum two, not more than that. I’m not like Pam Anderson or Dolly Parton, ok.

Marsha, brace yourself, my dear. Your time will come *evil laughter*.

  14. hahaha, naughty mommy. :)
