Book talk banner

honk_banner1.jpg

After hearing me moan about the lack of audience in my last book talk, Kenny Mah has taken the initiative to make this banner for my book talk. If any of you would like to help me promote the event, could you please copy this image and paste in on your blog? Thank you in advance.

Kenny, you’re my new BFF. Thanks a bunch!

P/S : I don’t know-lah why the images I post in WordPress are smudgy. Don’t have this problem with Blogger.

  1. Good job, kennymah. I’ve link up at the Klang Community eSpace.
All the best in your upcoming book talk.

P/S: That’s most probably it is pasted as thumbnail. You’ve got to select to paste it as Full Size.

  2. Kimmy, thanks for the link and for trouble shooting my problem. You’re right!

  3. Maybe another way to market it would be to send out emails announcing it to friends. (But no spamming, of course, no one likes that.)

Everyone can just let like-minded friends, esp. fellow readers know about the talk.

  4. Lydia – I’d love to post your banner. But I have no idea how to post images onto my blog! A bit bodoh lah. Have you not wondered why I haven’t got any images on my site?

  5. Tunku,

    Maybe this will do:

    1. In your WordPress post, there is an icon that looks like a tree. It’s your Image icon, just click it.

    2. In the space for Image URL, type http://lydiateh.wordpress.com/files/2007/02/honk_banner1.jpg

    3. Click “Insert” and voila! the banner’s there.

    Hope that helps.

  6. Kenny, in fact, I just sent out a mass email to readers of Life’s Like That who have written in to me earlier. Thanks for giving instructions to Tunku Halim.

Tunku Halim, hope that helps. And thanks in advance!

  7. Lydia

All the best for your book appearance at MidValley this Sunday. I’m afraid I won’t be there to cheer you on – I don’t like MidValley and will not go near it unless I absolutely have to (like that time, I went there to get my handphone – good thing the seller has since moved to Section 14). Sorry, lah. Are you appearing at Popular IKANO anytime soon? Or have I missed it?

  8. No problem, I’ll post it on my blog, Lydia.
ilene is all excited, yelling yelling, honking away, I asked her to take pictures for myself and Judy to see. Good luck!!

  9. Chet, thanks for your well wishes. I also try to avoid MidValley on weekends and holidays. But surprisingly when I arrived there at 2pm, the road was clear! I’m not going to Popular Ikano this time. Next (and last) talk will be at Borders, Berjaya TS.

firehorse, thank you. Ilene didn’t turn up. I know, everyone so scared of horrendous traffic leading into the mall.

  10. [...] draws readers to her blog and subsequently interest in her books. It’s heartening to discover the little banner I designed for her mushrooming all over the blogosphere. Where will it turn up next? Here be the power of [...]

  11. Guess what? I’m a super big fan and I totally didn’t know your new book was out till I happened to stroll into MPH 1 Utama and saw your book. My jaw literally dropped.Immediately, I grabbed a copy, but horror of horrors, found out, your book-signing session was long over. A lil’ upset at that point. Som I’m just wondering, will you have any upcoming book-signing events? It’ll be good if you could have it in MPH Subang Parade. Coz, I live in Subang and rarely go to Mid Valley, 1 Utama and places like that. BTW, in just a day, I practically devoured Honk! If you’re Malaysian. Seems like my voracious appetite for your writings is insatiable. So, definitely will be more dilligent waiting for your next book offering. =)

  12. Kenny, thanks for the link.

Janice, thank you so much! :0 My next (and last) book talk will be in Borders at Berjaya Times Square on Sat 3 March from 3-4 pm. If you could make it, that’ll be great. Maybe you could go there to use some (not all – or your folks will accuse me of teaching you bad things) of your angpow money, hehe.

  13. Read Honk! if you’re malaysian during Chinese New Year – Brilliant! A great book
    Thanks for sharing with us.

  14. Kenny, will give it a go. Thanks!
