I was comparing the Samsung SGH i550 with no. 1’s newly acquired Sony Ericsson K530i.
“So, what’s the big difference between the Samsung phone and yours,” I asked.
“The 3.0 camera and the GPS of course,” he said.
Indeed, the 3.0 megapixel camera is the feature I treasure most in the i550. As I always carry the phone with me wherever I go, I don’t have to worry about missing a good photo op. For instance, immediately after I baked my first batch of cinnamon rolls, I snapped a pix of it. I didn’t have to go scrambling to get the digital camera from the drawer upstairs. That’s no. 4 scraping the bottom of the tray for yummy crust.
The second photo shows my niece hamming it up for the camera. After a family dinner on Sunday, she asked to play with my phone. The kids crowded around to see the phone with the cool track ball. Gasp!! My status has been elevated as the owner (albeit temporary) of the coolest phone in the entire extended family. Before this, I was at the bottom rung. Even my 13-year old niece had a more “keng” mobile phone.
Postscript : One more feature that no. 1 forgot to mention : he doesn’t have the WIFI that the i550 has. Hehehe, that’s three up on him.

dear Lydia,
Long time have not read your blog. Been busy reading political ones….sorry.
You do shape your cinnamon roll quite nicely.
As for mine, very distorted. Can’t perfect the shape like they do, commercially.
Do you bake bread?

Hi Peter, thanks! Yes, they did turn out nicely. Commercial rolls are machine made, no? That’s why they’re so nice and uniform.
Yes, I do bake bread. Any easy and tasty recipes to share?

Wowow!
Those rolls sure do look BIG!
What other kinds of bread do you bake?
Hmm,
This topic reminds of Yakitake Japan! A manga about making bread.

Emerald, they were humongous! I followed the measurement given in the recipe and that was how it ended up so huge. Second time round, I made them smaller. I’m not adventurous la – just plain bread, wholemeal, sausage buns and the like. I’ve also tried garlic bread.

Hi Lydia
No wonder I’ve been cracking my head researching and trying to bake perfect cinnamon rolls. As long as it’s tasty and soft who cares how it’s shape… what say you?
Must make friend with those helpers at those outlet to learn a few tricks or so.
My basic bread measurement.
350g HP flour
200ml fresh milk (warm)
pinch of salt
1 1/2 makan spoon instant yeast
1 thumb butter soften (25g)
1 egg
3 makan spoon sugar.
I find dough slightly wet have softer texture.
Sorry for all the weird measurement – guys not strict follower.
I do add oats or cereals sometimes.

Thanks, Peter. I’ll try it out. Do you bake this as a loaf or little buns?

Normally I bake as open loaf- country style. I like to put either oats or poppy seed coating.
Nowadays the cost of baking at home is also burning some holes in the pocket especially if one bakes in quantity, to feed out laws and nieces. Have to look for recipe that do not use much butter or cream.
Sigh! enjoy while one can, don’t you think so?
