My aunt gave me your book,”Honk! If you are Malaysian” as a Christmas present. I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your book, especially the chapter about terminating lizards and rats from your home. It sounded so exactly like my own mum. Only my dad responded with a sticky glue trap, not a mug of hot water.
I think I made a variety of faces as I flipped through the pages. Some chapters made me laugh, some raised my eyebrows and had me nodding to myself slowly, others made my lips twitch. I liked the way you described the good, bad and ugly sides of us,Malaysians in a way that is both hilarious and yet,a wake-up call to our deficiencies. Its like Lat’s Comics in writing form.
Congrats on making it into so many best-selling lists. I hope the coming year would mean an addition to the best-sellers list!!! May God bless you…
Hi Joyc3, thanks so much for coming by to comment on my book. I really appreciate it and am glad that Honk! has helped you excercise your facial muscles. May your face continue to be supple and smooth for a long, long time. Thankfully for me, there are people like your aunt who buy books for Christmas gifts. Please thank her for me.
hello Lydia. I have found Do YOu Wear suspenders book, finally!! on the hunt to find your other books.
ryne, I hope you like Eh Poh Nim. Not sure which other books you’re looking for but all except one should be available at Popular and MPH. My first book Congratulations! You have won! is now out of print and not available.
Eh Poh Nim & Gene Rick?? Such romantic couples XD
Hi Lydia,
I was on a short break in my hometown in Sarawak when my sis recommended me to read “Honk, If You are a Malaysian”. I was reluctant at first as I’m pretty skeptical to my teenage sis choice of reading materials. But when I started on the first page, I never put the book down till the last page. It was totally worth it as I was finding something light to read and yet full of “community messages”. It’s something like the Petronas commercial breaks about how truly unique Malaysia is in book form. Now, I will go to the bookstore and hunt your other books. Cheers for the book and hope you will come up with something as amazing as this in the future.
Hi Sica, aren’t you glad you decided to take up your sister’s recommendation
Those who like Honk! usually also like Life’s Like That, so you might want to check that out. Thanks for coming by to comment. Cheers.
